  1. Tinjauan ringkas tentang kehidupan di Bumi akan dibahas, menyangkut keanekaragaman, struktur dasar, evolusi, dan masa depannya (life as we know it).
  2. Kehidupan di lingkungan ekstrem (extremophile).
  3. Survey pengetahuan fundamental yang diperoleh dari studi Tata Surya dan penemuan planet-planet baru di bintang lain, zona habitasi, serta hipotesis panspermia akan dibahas. Pencarian kehidupan dalam kerangka kerja saintifik.
  4. Pencarian kehidupan cerdas (SETI) dibahas dalam kerangka Formula Drake dan Paradox Fermi.
  5. Permasalahan UFO dipandang dari konteks sosial.
  6. Konsekuensi filosofis tentang pencarian kehidupan.
  1. A brief overview of life on Earth will be discussed, regarding diversity, basic structure, evolution and its future (life as we know it).
  2. Life in extreme environments (extremophile).
  3. A survey of fundamental knowledge gained from the study of the Solar System and the discovery of new planets in other stars, habitable zones, as well as the panspermia hypothesis will be discussed. The search for life within a scientific framework.
  4. The search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) is discussed within the framework of the Drake Formula and the Fermi Paradox.
  5. The UFO problem, viewed from a social context.
  6. Philosophical consequences of the search for life.
Capaian Pembelajaran Mata Kuliah (CPMK)
  1. Memahami makna pertanyaan: “Are we alone?” Mempertanyakan apa sebenarnya kehidupan itu, dengan hanya ada satu sampel dari Bumi.
  2. Mahasiswa memahami elemen-elemen penting atau karakteristik kehidupan di Bumi dan bagaimana evolusinya sepanjang sejarah Bumi.
  3. Mahasiswa mendalami aspek-aspek pencarian kehidupan di Tata Surya dan di eksoplanet yang telah ditemukan.
  4. Mahasiswa memahami motivasi pencarian kehidupan cerdas di alam semesta dan berbagai upaya yang telah dilakukan.
  1. Understand the meaning of the question: "Are we alone?" Questioning what life really is, with only one sample from Earth.
  2. Students understand the important elements or characteristics of life on Earth and how it evolved throughout Earth's history.
  3. Students explore aspects of the search for life in the Solar System and on exoplanets that have been discovered.
  4. Students understand the motivation for the search for intelligent life in the universe and the various efforts that have been made.
