Bahan Kajian
  1. Introduksi Picture Book & Segmentasi Pembaca: Konsep buku ilustrasi anak (picture book), jenis-jenis (naratif, konseptual, wordless), struktur umum (dummy, urutan halaman), serta segmentasi umur anak dan implikasinya pada bahasa visual.
  2. Tema, Ide Cerita, dan Narasi Visual: Pengembangan tema/premis, pesan, konflik sederhana, dan penyusunan alur berbasis beat yang mudah dipahami anak; penerjemahan narasi ke strategi visual.
  3. Karakter dan Penokohan: Perancangan karakter (shape language, ekspresi, gesture, appeal), konsistensi karakter, relasi karakter–tema, dan kejelasan emosi dalam tiap adegan.
  4. Latar dan Dunia Cerita: Perancangan latar, props, dan detail dunia cerita yang mendukung plot serta konteks budaya; visual motif untuk memperkuat kohesi cerita.
  5. Mood, Pencahayaan, dan Warna: Moodboard, eksplorasi gaya, skema warna, pencahayaan, dan color script untuk membangun suasana dan ritme emosi.
  6. Desain Buku Anak: Layout & Tipografi: Integrasi teks–gambar, hirarki informasi, grid/layout, tipografi untuk anak, serta keterbacaan dan alur baca.
  7. Storyboard, Sequencing, dan Page Dummy: Penyusunan storyboard, thumbnail, dan dummy; pengaturan pacing, komposisi antarhalaman, serta strategi “page-turn reveal”.
  8. Produksi Ilustrasi & Kesiapan Publikasi: Alur produksi ilustrasi final (manual/digital), konsistensi gaya, persiapan file (format, resolusi, bleed, warna), mockup, dan presentasi/pameran.
  1. Picture Book Introduction & Audience Segmentation: Overview of children’s picture books (narrative, concept, wordless), common structure (dummy and page sequencing), and age segmentation with implications for visual language and readability.
  2. Theme, Story Ideas, and Visual Narrative: Developing theme/premise, message, simple conflicts, and beat-based story flow appropriate for children; translating narrative into visual strategy.
  3. Characters and Characterization: Character design (shape language, expression, gesture, appeal), character consistency, character–theme alignment, and emotional clarity per scene.
  4. Setting and Story World: Designing settings, props, and story-world details that support plot and cultural context; using visual motifs to strengthen narrative cohesion.
  5. Mood, Lighting, and Colour: Moodboards, style exploration, color schemes, lighting, and color scripting to build atmosphere and emotional pacing.
  6. Children’s Book Design: Layout & Typography: Text–image integration, information hierarchy, grids/layout, child-friendly typography, readability, and reading flow.
  7. Storyboard, Sequencing, dan Page Dummy: Building storyboard, thumbnails, and dummies; controlling pacing, across-spread composition, and page-turn reveals.
  8. Illustration Production & Publishing Readiness: Final artwork production (traditional/digital), style consistency, production specs (format, resolution, bleed, color), mockups, and presentation/exhibition readiness.

  1. Mahasiswa mampu mendesain buku ilustrasi anak dengan mengembangkan narasi visual sesuai segmentasi umur anak.
  2. Mahasiswa mampu membuat storyboard cerita yang sesuai dengan narasi visual yang dikembangkan.
  3. Mahasiswa mampu mengetahui perkembangan buku anak di era digital.
  4. Mahasiswa mampu mengembangkan ide dengan bentuk fisik buku dan karakter tokoh cerita
  5. Mahasiswa mampu mempresentasikan karya desain dan ilustrasi buku anak yang siap cetak/produksi.
  1. Students are able to design children's illustrated books by developing visual narratives appropriate for the children's age segment.
  2. Students are able to create storyboards that align with the developed visual narrative.
  3. Students are able to understand the development of children's books in the digital era.
  4. Students are able to develop ideas for both the physical format of the book and the characters in the story.
  5. Students are able to present design and illustration work for children's books that is ready for print/production.
