Kuliah ini memperkenalkan dasar-dasar teknis dan rekayasa sistem komunikasi satelit dari hulu hingga hilir: pengantar ekosistem dan parameter teknis, orbit dan konstelasi, subsistem utama satelit, karakteristik propagasi (termasuk dampak troposfer/hujan), hingga desain dan evaluasi anggaran tautan. Pada akhir perkuliahan, mahasiswa mampu menganalisis dan merancang koneksi satelit berdasarkan metrik kinerja utama seperti EIRP, G/T, C/N₀, Eb/N₀, margin, dan ketersediaan, serta menerapkannya pada studi kasus perencanaan tautan. | Course description :
This course introduces the technical and engineering foundations of satellite communication systems from upstream to downstream: an introduction to ecosystems and technical parameters, orbits and constellations, the main subsystems of satellites, propagation characteristics (including the impact of the troposphere/rain), to the design and evaluation of link budgets. At the end of the lecture, students are able to analyze and design satellite connections based on key performance metrics such as EIRP, G/T, C/N₀, Eb/N₀, margin, and availability, as well as apply them to link planning case studies. |
