Bahan Kajian
  1. Pengenalan semi kualitatif tentang Galaksi: koordinat galaktik, penentuan jarak dalam skala Galaksi, komponen Galaksi, distribusi bintang dan kinematika bintang di sekitar Matahari, rotasi galaksi, lengan spiral, pelengkungan Galaksi, formasi dan evolusi Galaksi.
  2. Diperkenalkan dasar-dasar ilmiah dalam melihat alam semesta sebagai sistem fisis, yakni: dimensi dan geometrinya; isinya: dari skala subatomik hingga gugus galaksi; dan hukum-hukum alam yang diketahui bekerja secara universal dalam alam semesta skala besar; evolusinya. Dalam proses belajar dicermati juga spirit keinginan pencarian kebenaran dan persepsi akan keindahan alam maupun teori.
  1. A semi-qualitative introduction to the Galaxy: galactic coordinates, distance determination on a galactic scale, components of the Galaxy, distribution and kinematics of stars around the Sun, galactic rotation, spiral arms, galactic warp, and the formation and evolution of the Galaxy.
  2. An introduction to the scientific foundations of viewing the universe as a physical system, namely: its dimensions and geometry; its contents, from the subatomic scale to galaxy clusters; and the natural laws known to operate universally on a large-scale cosmos; as well as its evolution. The learning process also emphasizes the spirit of seeking truth and the perception of beauty in both nature and theoretical concepts.

  1. Mahasiswa mengerti mengenai struktur, dinamika, formasi, dan evolusi galaksi secara semi kualitatif.
  2. Lulusan kuliah ini akan dapat menalar alam semesta sebagaimana suatu sistem fisis, dan dapat mengikuti perkembangan kosmologi modern melalui critical reading artikel semi popular dalam kosmologi.
  1. Students understand the structure, dynamics, formation, and evolution of galaxies in a semi-qualitative manner.
  2. Graduates of this course will be able to reason about the universe as a physical system and keep up with developments in modern cosmology through critical reading of semi-popular articles on cosmology.
