- Mahasiswa mampu merumuskan masalah-masalah di seputar area studi dan menurunkan rumusan masalah (problem statement/ research problem).
- Mahasiswa mampu merumuskan tujuan penelitian dan pertanyaan penelitian dari topik penelitiannya.
- Mahasiswa mampu membangun kerangka berpikir dan strategi penyelidikan sesuai dengan topiknya.
- Mahasiswa memaparkan penelitiannya, rumusan masalah, tujuan dan pertanyaan penelitian, tahapan penelitian dan perkiraan waktu pelaksanaan dalam sebuah dokumen dan presentasi oral.
