Bahan Kajian
  1. Paduan kuliah Sedimenologi dan Stratitigrafi memberikan pengertian tentang konsep dan model dalam pembentukan batuan sedimen, dan hubungannya dalam ruang dan waktu. Genesa batuan sedimen dimulai dari pengenalan butiran, mekanisme sedimenasi, hubungan antar butiran dan struktur sediments hingga terbentuknya lapisan batuan (strata).
  2. Selanjutnya penafsiran lingkungan pengendapan didasarkan atas identifikasi fasies dan asosiasi fasies dalam suatu kemungkinan hubungan genetik.
  3. Hubungan batuan sedimen dalam ruang dan waktu dijelaskan dalam korelasi stratigrafi, dimana sebelumnya dijelaskan mengenai pengertian proses stratigrafi: keselarasan, suksesi vertikal, transgresi, regresi, fasies, dan ketidakselarasan serta hiatus.
  4. Tatanama batuan stratigrafi akan diberikan secara singkat, akan tetapi satuan lithostratigrafi diberikan secara mendalam hingga satuan terkecil yaitu lapisan yang sepadan dengan unit reservoir.
  5. Potensi ekonimis dalam batuan sedimen akan dijelaskan dalam bentuk peta-peta stratigrafi yang pada umumnya merupakan peta subsurface dan berhububgan dengan kandungan hidrokarbon dan/atau batubara. Analogi penggunaan peta stratigrafi ini juga dapat diterapkan untuk kandungan fluida lainya seperti air atau kandungan mineral ekonomis.
  1. The course in Sedimentology and Stratigraphy provides an understanding of the concepts and models related to the formation of sedimentary rocks and their spatial and temporal relationships. The genesis of sedimentary rocks begins with the introduction of grains, sedimentation mechanisms, the relationships between grains, sediment structures, and the formation of rock layers (strata).
  2. Subsequently, the interpretation of depositional environments is based on the identification of facies and facies associations within a potential genetic relationship.
  3. The spatial and temporal relationships of sedimentary rocks are explained through stratigraphic correlation, which is preceded by an explanation of the stratigraphic processes: conformity, vertical succession, transgression, regression, facies, as well as unconformities and hiatuses.
  4. The nomenclature of stratigraphic rocks will be briefly outlined; however, the lithostratigraphic units will be discussed in depth, including the smallest units such as layers equivalent to reservoir units.
  5. The economic potential of sedimentary rocks will be discussed through stratigraphic maps, which generally are subsurface maps related to hydrocarbon and/or coal content. The use of stratigraphic maps can also be applied to other fluid contents such as water or economically significant mineral deposits.
